The Experience
My husband said to me: I don’t know where our photos are. After a moment’s pause and a confused look from me to him, he repeated himself.
It took me a second, but then it clicked.
All of our photos were digital. Everything lived on a hard drive. Years and years of memories. That he nor our three children had ever seen.
It stopped me in my tracks.
Here I am a film family & newborn photographer in Raleigh NC with over 15 years of experience, and my own family isn't enjoying our photos.
Why? Because we are all busy. We say "we'll get to that soon", but years later the images are still sitting on a hard drive or in a cloud, waiting to be printed & framed. Me included.
Out of that was born my Raleigh family & newborn photography experience. A luxury experience for the busy yet nostalgic mom where I handle handle everything for you to ensure a stress-free portrait experience.
So that you and your family will enjoy your photos...like mine now does.

I will photograph your session. Raleigh newborn photographer sessions are generally done in-home or in-studio. Raleigh family photographer sessions are usually done on-location in the general Raleigh area.
All sessions are individually tailored to your needs and are always a fun & relaxed time! I'll pull out all my special tricks to keep your kids happy and engaged.

We will set up a virtual consultation to begin designing your dream session.
I will assist you in full session planning, including: location, style, providing wardrobe for you (with select child options too), hair & makeup facilitation and will begin the process of planning for your heirloom art pieces!

We'll spend an hour or so photographing your precious family. Newborn photography sessions are generally done in-home or in-studio. Family & maternity photography sessions are usually done on-location in the general Raleigh area.
All sessions are individually tailored to your needs and are always a fun & relaxed time! I'll pull out all my special tricks to keep your kids happy and engaged.
2. The Session
Since I photograph on film, I first have to send it off to be developed. The lab will send me digital scans of your images, which I then edit in the AJDP signature style that you see throughout my portfolio.
Don't worry I'll share a sneak peek here and there. I know you're excited to see them!

A.J. has been there through all of our biggest milestones, starting with our engagement photos and wedding photos in 2013. Since then, we have had countless Raleigh family photographer & Raleigh newborn photographer sessions with her, along with newborn photo shoots for 4 of our babies.
What I love most about all of the photos A.J. is her photos aren’t forced or over staged. Her photography approach is natural and authentic.
