Besides weddings, being a newborn lifestyle photographer is my second favorite thing to do. I used to dread newborn sessions. I’d make myself do them, because I believed in capturing that part of a family’s life, plus I enjoyed celebrating with my brides and clients as they welcomed their new little one. But the process of posing them, waiting for the baby to sleep, eat or poop I dreaded!

Two things happened to change my opinion about them: I became a mom, and I discovered the wonderful world of newborn lifestyle photography. These days, I find myself actually looking forward to newborn sessions! They give me a different creative outlet. Something other than the fast paced world of weddings. They’re slow, methodical, and oh so cute. With weddings I feel like I’m capturing the beginning of a love story. With newborn lifestyle sessions I feel like I’m capturing the beginning of a family! Even when it’s the second, third or fourth kid. Each time the family starts all over again, as a new and beautiful unit. With one tiny new member who they didn’t know they couldn’t live without until his or her arrival. It’s truly an honor to photograph newborns and their families. Especially when there’s two of them!!!

I’ll admit, I was SO nervous about photographing these two. I haven’t photographed newborn twins in years!!! From the moment I met Finn, Emory and their parents my nerves disappeared. All four of them are so sweet, and the babies were so easy going! They enjoyed their time snuggling each other, mom and dad and allowed me to capture some really priceless moments.

As twins often do, they arrived a little before their expected date, and had to get a little extra tlc before coming home. Which meant, I didn’t get to photograph them as new as I often do with babies. They were four weeks old I finally got to come over and meet them, but still tiny and cute as could be!!! The amount of cuteness in that house was almost too much to handle!

Thank you Emory & Finn for being so adorable, and for letting me take your picture. I can’t wait to watch you grow and see your beautiful personalities develop!
