The AJDP Team

I'm married to my high school sweetheart and am mom to three beautiful daughters and probably one too many pets.

Photography wasn't my childhood dream job. Growing up I dreamed of being astronomer and archaeologist (until I realized you have to stay up all night and touch dead bones).

I left school not knowing what I wanted to do with my life...until my siblings began having kids.

Once I started photographing their every move, like the proud aunt I was, I realized very quickly this is the career I was meant to have. I made things official in 2010 and haven't looked back since!

I don't think it's the act of taking the pictures that grabbed me though. It's the feelings the photos bring, and the connections I feel to those in the photos.

That's what I strive to give to all my families! I want each and every client to feel the way I feel when I look at a photo of my loved ones. Proud, joyful and thankful.

I want you walking by your portraits on the wall and smiling, or sitting on the couch and flipping through your albums with your children and swooning over their tiny preciousness. If at the end of the day a photo I took brings even the slightest bit of joy into your home, I will consider that the biggest compliment you could give me.

Hi, I'm A.J.

I'm A.J.'s sister, a wife to a wonderful man named Shane, and mom to three little ones! Two boys and a daughter. They are by far the best thing we have ever done in our lives! And I can't forget my 4-legged daughter, Emma.

Like A.J, I too never intended on being a photographer.

I always wanted to be a teacher. Constantly playing school on our chalkboard with my friends. Giving pretend lessons and grading pretend papers. For 7 years that childhood dream came true! I taught 1st and 3rd grade and loved it.

When I had children, it became clear they were by far my most important teaching job. My husband and I made the decision for me to stay home with our oldest.

That's when I began working with A.J. At first, it was light office duty, helping with editing and marketing, and a year or so later she asked me if I wanted to learn how to take portraits.

That's when I discovered that my background in teaching gave me a unique skillset in this industry. A.J. calls them my magic kid powers, but I thank my years of teaching for the ability to give families a relaxed and stress free portrait experience.

When families leave their sessions feeling that way, I consider it a job well done.
