Guess I can check NYC Engagement Photographer off the bucket list! Wow, what an amazing time we had with these two. They took us ALL over their city for these pics! We started right at sunrise on the Brooklyn Bridge. It was slightly cold and windy, just a tad bit crowded, and we may have feared for our lives a time or two with the crazy cyclists coming across the bridge, but I’d do it all over again to get these images!!! From the bridge, we headed over to The Highline, an old abandoned track turned gorgeous park right through the middle of the city. The views we saw up there were unreal! We wrapped up their session in Central Park, because how can you photograph in New York City and not go to Central Park! The leaves were just starting to turn, the sunshine warmed us up a little, and we got some seriously romantic snuggly photos of this happy couple!
I must admit, these aren’t quite engagement photos, but definitely don’t count as anniversary photos either. I’m calling it a just married shoot. When they booked us as their wedding photographers earlier this year, there wasn’t enough time before the big day to hop on a plane to NYC, so we all agreed it’d be best to wait until after the wedding to take their engagement photos. Just under 2 months married, and we were finally able to photograph them in their element! I kind of liked doing another photo shoot with them right after the wedding! It was fun to catch up, talk about their day, relive the funny, sweet, tearful moments, and hear about life as newlyweds!
This was my first trip to New York City (more on that in another blog post, complete with totally cheesy tourist photos), but I would love nothing more than to add NYC Wedding Photographer to the resume soon! Anyone?? Crickets, ok, maybe one day soon. For now, I’ll just dream of being an NYC Wedding Photographer, and reminisce over being a sunrise NYC Engagement Photographer.
Angelena and Matt, thank you for having us up there. For getting up way too early in the morning, being such gracious tour guides, and beautiful subjects to photograph. It’s been a whirlwind 5 months from meeting you, to photographing your wedding, and flying up to New York for these pics, but we have loved every. single. minute. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love that my first trip to New York City will always remind me of you two : )
