How is my sweet little nephew 6, almost 7, months old? Where in the world has this year gone?!! Wasn’t I just waiting for him to arrive and photographing is newborn portraits last week? Time, it’s ok with me if you go ahead and stand still for a little while.
In honor of Cason’s six months I wanted to write him a little letter and share his most recent family portraits. I have a whole journal of letters to Ada, but nothing for him. So little man, here’s one for you:
“Oh sweet boy, having you in this family for the last 6 months has been the most amazing blessing. In just a short period of time, you’ve become Ada’s best friend, and play partner! I’m not sure who’s more obsessed with who. She talks about you non-stop when you’re not together, and you giggle like crazy every time you see her. It’s such a dream come true seeing you two grow up together. I hope and I pray that you always keep this bond.
I’ve loved watching you grow into the little man you are already. Your giggles fill a room with joy, and your ear to ear smiles are beyond contagious. The sheer excitement you get from rolling around the room melts my heart, and I’ve never seen a child master tummy time quite the way you have! You’re the chunkiest & strongest little baby ever, and have practically outgrown your almost 2 year old cousin! I love your chunky little thighs and your rolls that go on for days! You’ll grow out of them one day, so I’m going to soak in all the squishy cuteness while it’s here! Oh how I love you!
When you’re not giggling you’re intensely trying to figure something out, with the most serious look on your face. Your one little eyebrow goes up, and we can see you thinking so hard! It’s hilarious and adorable! Maybe you’ll grow up to be an engineer like your daddy.
No matter what you do in life one thing is for sure, you will be loved. By so many people. You have no idea right now the support network around you, but let me tell you it’s huge. It’s like one big hug that never ends. Hopefully you’ll never need us, but if you do, we’ll be there for you.
Cason Riley, the Dunlaps love you so much. We can’t wait to watch you outgrow Ada, and see the amazing man we know you’re going to be! You’re such a blessing, and we’re so thankful to call you our nephew & God-son. Love, your Auntie A.”
