Photographing a Graylyn Estate wedding is a dream come true. It’s as close to a mid-evil castle as it gets here in North Carolina, and holds all the charm you’d think a Renaissance venue would. Pulling into the drive, you’re immediately wowed by the rock palace complete with towers and spiral stair cases. It’s such a unique venue, and we loved being there for Kristen & Greg’s day!

The forecast for their day was not promising. All week, they called for rain, and not just a few drops, but buckets and buckets of rain. As we drove to Winston Salem for their wedding, we probably checked the forecast every 5 minutes, hoping for a change, and each time it got better and better. They kept pushing the start time for the rain, until it finally said after their ceremony! And that’s exactly what we got! We literally wrapped up portraits, ceremony and their outdoor cocktail hour, and no sooner did we walk inside for dinner when the skies opened up. I’m talking within seconds of walking inside! It was the craziest thing!

We’re so thankful Kristen & Greg got the outdoor Graylyn Estate wedding they’d dreamed about. That place holds a very dear place in Kristen’s heart, with many memories from college and family ties, and you could tell how happy she was to be getting her dream come true! I don’t think we’ve seen a more smiley bride than her :)

Thank you two so much for letting us be part of your day! We loved every second, and hope you love the pictures as much as we loved taking them for you!!
