Oh how I love these ladies. My friendship with them has bloomed over the past year, a friendship for which I am so thankful. They’ve gone from vendors who we work with occasionally to my industry bff’s! They’re so full of life and easy to talk to! But do you know why I love them the most? Because they always remain 100% true to themselves. They’re loud, over-the-top, hilarious, will talk to you for hours on end, and completely genuine. They’re going to be who they are whether you like it or not. And I envy them for that confidence…and secretly hope some if it will rub off on me : )
I first met them last year at a styled shoot. Actually, let me clarify, I met Holly. She came bouncing in to the venue, in full Holly fashion, holding the largest Starbucks drink I’ve ever seen, and talking a mile a minute. Anyone who can talk to a brick wall for as long as I can is instantly my friend. We began working on other projects including several for my workshop, texting, had one very memorable lunch date with some of the best business conversation I’ve ever had, and forged a bond that I’m so thankful for.
For months I joked with Holly that Amanda didn’t exist. That she made up the whole Greenhouse Picker Sisters thing! It was one of those cases where we were never in the same place at the same time, or when we’d arrange to be somewhere together one of us would have something come up and not be able to go! But finally the stars aligned our calendars and I saw with my own eyes that Amanda wasn’t just a made up story! She was real, and she was just as amazing as her sister. In fact, we just found out we’re birthday twins down to only a few hours apart! I don’t know of any clearer sign that we were meant to be friend than that.
Fast forward to this spring, and that business lunch I had with Holly. She let me in on the little secret that they were finally opening up a showroom! A space all their own! She mentioned the possibility of a grand opening event and asked if I would photograph it. Uhhhh DUH! No question there, I wouldn’t want it any other way! When the Greenhouse Picker Sisters ask you to photograph something you say yes. One because you get to work with them, and two because there’s no doubt it’s going to be GORGEOUS!
And gorgeous it was! Full of boho chic style mixed with all their vintage rentals and details. It was perfect. They chose an amazing vendor team to pull the look together, and had an extremely successful grand opening party a few weeks ago! I photographed details for almost 4 hours straight and am sure I still missed a few things!
Holly & Amanda, thank you so much for asking us to be part of your special night. I love you ladies so much, and will be forever thankful that I get to call you friends. My life is better because you two are part of it! You two inspire me on a daily basis to push myself, dream big dreams and work my tail off to make them happen! Congrats on all of your success! You deserve every ounce of it, and all that’s in store for you!
I can’t close this post out without highlighting the awesome vendor team who helped make this night perfection. Thank you to each and every one of you:
