I know, I know, this is a people photography blog, BUT sometimes a girl’s just gotta switch it up. And this is something you probably didn’t know about me. One of my passions is interior architectural photography! Bizarre, right? Except, not. Think about it.
About half my shoots require some sort of architectural photography. From photographing a venue, to a reception space, all the way to a newborn’s nursery. This is actually a huge part of my job, and one of my favorites to shoot. Especially the interior architectural aspect! I just love photographing a put together room. Just like with the styled shoot I posted earlier this week, I love seeing a vision come together. Whether that’s for a wedding or for someone’s living room. It’s such a satisfying feeling taking that final, completely put together image.
Pursuing it as a career is a different topic though. Maybe one day, I’ll transition down that road, or even add it as an advertised option, but for now I’m just enjoying it as part of my job and the occasional hobby shoot. Like this one!
My dear friend Stephanie, launched an interior design business last year called Stephanie Tidwell Interiors. Everyone who knows her, knows how naturally gifted she is at interior design! She sees things, I didn’t even know to look for! It’s become a fun project for us to work on together as she decorates new spaces, I get to photograph them, and in turn, she helps me solve all of my decorating dilemmas (like my living room and my current project of my office)! She’s amazingly talented, and I so love how this has grown our friendship even more!
About a month ago, she text me a photo of this nursery she was working on, just because she was excited about how it was coming together. I immediately responded with “I’m going to get my camera on that, right?!” Because, hello. Cacti on the walls. Yes, please. Everything about this space is perfect, and the little girl who is going to grow up here is going to have the coolest room on the block! Make sure to scroll through every image and soak in the uniqueness that is this space!!
