It’s a…

Our Life

Written by:

We are THRILLED to announce that we are having little girl!!!!!!

My heart is so full of love already for this tiny daughter of ours. It’s truly a dream come true. I know you’re supposed to say all I want is a healthy baby, and you’re not supposed to have a preference, but we totally did. We’ve wanted a girl this whole time, and now it’s happening! As soon as the ultrasound tech told us yesterday morning I started crying (and I’ve pretty much been crying ever since). I can’t help myself. We are going to have a daughter! Pig tails, ribbons, dresses and bows here we come : )

She was a wiggly little thing for her ultrasound, and she was totally willing to show us her parts, haha. In fact, that’s all she wanted to show us! The tech kept trying to get good photos of other parts of her, but she just kept sticking her cute little butt up in the air. But the tech was quicker than she was, and still managed to get all the measurements and photos we could ever need. Everything is on track as it should be, and she’s perfectly healthy!

Our families are so excited…except our 7 year old nephew. His response was “too many girls!”, haha. I told him sorry, and promised him the next one would be boy : ) He accepted that as a good compromise. Kyle is beyond thrilled! He’s already talking about planning for her wedding and teaching her to play golf. Love that man! I can’t believe I’m sharing this, but my sister has now affectionately renamed Beanie to Beanie No Weenie. Yes, she’s a great aunt, haha! I guess we need to come up with a name quickly so that one doesn’t stick. Oh, and if you see or talk to Kyle’s Dad don’t tell him! He wants to be surprised. Not sure how we’ll manage keeping that secret for the next 5 months, but we’re going to try!

Ok, confession time: I swore up and down I would never, ever, ever share an ultrasound picture on social media (because I thought they were kind of creepy), but boy do things change when you’re pregnant. That’s my little munchkin, and I am a proud momma who just wants to show her off to everyone! World meet our little girl : ) We love her with all our hearts, and can’t wait to hold her in just a few short months!

  1. Ahhh!!! It’s a girl!!! Congratulations!!!! So excited for you guys!!!

  2. We are so happy for you guys. I can understand Kyle’s viewpoint…I’ve been writing my Father of the Bride toast since she was born. Almost every Father/Daughter dance will start to choke you up even more. As a dad of four I can say honestly…there’s something about the daughters. I was wrapped around their little finger since minute one. Blessings to you both and I’ll see you soon.

Woohoo I guessed right. Congrats! Since I am an ultrasound tech I appreciate that you shared the ultrasound pic. We work hard to get those perfect images and love when our patients love them and don’t think they are creepy. It is your child’s first photo and it is photography after all, just a different type of black and white :)

Congratulations! Your life is just beginning as parents. And you will totally be swept off your feet with a love you will only know when you hold her in your arms. So much to be enjoyed in your future as parents. Sweet times. Silly times. Sick times and proud times. And the list goes on. My sweet daughter turned 25 in February. I can still remember that awesome feeling when she was put in my arms at birth. Enjoy it all as it is a blessing like no other.
