The Southeastern Bride Magazine • Editorial Styled Shoot

Since beginning my career, it’s been a dream to have a magazine editorial. For a magazine editor to reach out to me, and ask me to be part of their wedding magazine would be like: well, I might as well hang up my camera then because nothing could ever top that. Not that I don’t love or aren’t thankful for wedding blog features. Those are absolutely amazing, and in all honesty, probably drive more traffic to my website than a magazine feature does. I think it’s just that magazines only have a limited amount of space, and to be given even a small part of that space is a really big deal in my book. So you can imagine my excitement when I got just such an email this time last year from the editor of The Southeastern Bride.

She was working on a feature for their first issue and asked if I’d be open to photographing it. I think I nearly fainted out of my chair. Once I recovered, and did a little happy dance, I replied with a resounding YES and probably way more exclamation points than is professionally acceptable. We immediately started working on things and coming up with a design concept for the shoot. I reached out to my dear friend Cheryl-Anne of Kast Events to help make this vision come to life, and she did just that and so much more!!

Last August, surrounded by the most amazing vendor team you could put together, they created (and I photographed) this dream come true. Taking those images will forever be one of my favorite days. The very first time I got to be part of an editorial team, and it’s a day I’ll always remember! As with any editorial, we had to wait to share the images until the magazine came out last Thanksgiving, which was probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done as a photographer!!! I mean, just look at the beauty I got to capture!

Since then, the relationships with these vendors have grown into some truly beautiful friendships. Ones I’m thankful for both inside and out of the wedding world. I can’t tell you how much I love this team and what they create. They’re each very talented artists, and I’m in awe of their work every time I see it!

I just want to close out with saying a huge thanks to them all! I love you so much and am so proud to know you! Thank you for making this shoot such a success!

While this was the first issue, the next one is getting ready to hit the shelves and I’m so honored to say I not only have another magazine editorial feature with most of this dream team, but also a real wedding being featured in it too!!! Check out The Southeastern Bride to see the full issue of Volume 1 and preorder Volume 2!!

Be sure to tune in tomorrow to see ALL the images from this shoot in addition to the magazine spreads seen here!
