Next year is the year of photographing siblings. Right now, our first three scheduled weddings in 2017 are siblings of our favorite couples!!! The best kind of weddings. Being wedding photographers gives us the unique privilege of being welcomed into the most intimate day for so many families. We often leave feeling like we’ve gained a whole new branch of family. So photographing the wedding of a sibling is like attending a mini family reunion. We pass around hugs, exchange stories of what’s happened in each other’s lives over the past year or two, and genuinely feel like we’re catching up with long lost family. Like I said, the best kind of wedding.
Olivia, is just such a bride. Her sister was one of our very first weddings, years ago, when she was just a little college student! But we kept in touch, seeing each other here and there, and waiting for the day when she and Joseph became engaged. And now it’s happened!! Now we get to photograph her wedding too!!! Based on how her engagement pictures went, I think it’s safe to say it’s going to be a pretty one.
At the last minute, we decided to move their boho engagement session to early morning to beat the Raleigh heat. Good decision, because even at 8AM, it was HOT!!! I worry sometimes that couples are going to show up sleepy and tired looking, but not these two. They showed up like this! Dressed to perfection like a boho princess, flower crown, flowy dress and all. Even first thing in the morning, these two were wide awake and totally themselves. I’ve thanked them a thousand times for being them. They’re adorable, natural, and so easy (and fun!) to photograph!!!
Olivia & Joseph, we couldn’t be happier for you two, and seriously can’t wait for your wedding day to get here! You two are meant to be together like no other, and it shows by how easily you love each other. Enjoy every second of the rest of your engagement!!
