Hands down, the biggest compliment we get is when a sibling of a prior couple asks us to photograph his/her wedding. They’ve seen us work behind the scenes, they’ve seen the final product, and they still love us…it makes my heart leap every time it happens!!! Especially in the case of Katelyn. A few years ago we photographed her sister, Andrea’s wedding. Andrea & her husband Nate have gone from being clients to some of our dearest friends, and their wedding is still one of our favorites, for many reasons, but one of the biggest is their families. So when I saw that Katelyn got engaged, I not so patiently waited for her email with crossed fingers and all.

Photographing a sibling is also extremely difficult. While we strive to get better with each wedding, there’s extra pressure when they have something to compare us to! It makes me push myself even hard to deliver something better & different! Katelyn & Clayton made it EASY for me though! I barely had to pose them or tell them what to do. They’re obviously in love and naturally gravitate towards being together. It’s hard to pick a favorite from this session, because I have so many!!!! The mix of fine art engagement portraits, lifestyle, and genuine happiness makes me swoon. Each image I looked at I loved more than the next, simply because these two are the real thing. Katelyn don’t tell your sister, but she might loose her favorite bride status, haha!

Katelyn & Clayton, thank you so much for giving us this great honor. We can not WAIT for your wedding next year!! It’s going to be a long 11 months!!! Enjoy every second of your engagement. This is a brief period in the span of life, so soak up every ounce, and keep being the cute couple you so genuinely are!
