When I first chatted with Emily on the phone about their upcoming Merrimon-Wynne wedding this fall, we clicked right away! She has such a sweet demeanor, and she and Sam are adorable together. Emily works in event planning, so I’m sure their wedding day will be absolutely flawless. I’m so looking forward to photographing it for them! But in the meantime, I was so happy that Emily & Sam chose to do an engagement session. It gave me a chance to hang out with them in person before the big day! Their winter engagement session was full of beautiful, glowy light and lots of snuggles!
Besides getting to know your wedding photographer, engagement photos can be used for so many ways! Some people use them for Save The Dates and others do them after Save The Dates have already been sent out. Both are totally normal and totally okay! (I didn’t do my “official” engagement pictures until like a month and a half before our wedding, when we were able to make it up to Boone with A.J. for the day ha!). Outside of Save The Dates, engagement pictures can be used for prints in your home, keepsake albums, prints displayed at the wedding, a guest book at the wedding, and so much more!
All that to say, Emily & Sam were about to send out their Save The Dates, so we decided to do their engagement pictures shortly after booking. That way, they’d have their pictures ready to send out their Save The Dates to guests. I loved doing their winter engagement session. And I’m so glad we did it when we did. There’s something just really beautiful about winter light, in my opinion! Getting Emily & Sam in front of my camera made me so excited for their wedding day. These two are really sweet together and I’m counting down the days until their wedding day. I know it’s going to be a good one!
