I am so glad we were able to document this time in her life! Ada Pearl was only 6 days new when we took these. It’s a time we’ll never get back. Kyle loves to look at me and say she’ll only be xx days old once, because he knows it makes me cry. But he’s so right. Every day is another day older, and time will fly by if we don’t stop it with a picture. That’s why we set this up months before my due date. I wanted to make sure we didn’t let this time slip by. Was it a lot to get dressed (find something that fit!), do my hair and makeup 6 days after delivery? Yes, but it was so worth it. I’ll never regret having these images.

We hired our dear friend Perry of Perry Vaile Photography to photograph our little bug in her newest state. We love her. She has such a beautiful and artful style to her work, and it was so fun being photographed by her. In a twist on all things photography related to me, she shoots film! All of these beautiful photos of Adeline you see here were photographed on film. I know nothing of her world, other than it’s an impressive and difficult art form, and she consistently stuns me with her gorgeous imagery. Perry, we are so grateful to you for photographing this stage of our life. We will cherish these photos forever!

We didn’t want to focus on the dogs, because this was Ada’s turn, but a photo of all of us is one we have a hard time taking ourselves. So we asked Perry to take at least one full family photo. These are some of my favorites that she captured!

Kyle asks me all the time why I love this photo below, and I always tell him I don’t know. Maybe it’s because that was us at 6 days into this adventure. Or maybe it’s because she doesn’t really do that anymore? Whatever it is, this one steals my heart and has already been printed : )
