In case you weren’t aware, the south got snow last week. I’m not sure if we could even call what we got snow. It was more like a 2 inch layer of sleet/snow/freezing rain that melted together into a solid layer of ice. Anyhow, it’s a big deal around here. No joke, our schools were closed for 4 days because of it. But it’s especially a big deal when it’s your 6 month old daughter’s first snow!

Technically, she saw snow on Halloween while we were in the mountains, but it was so windy, cold and miserable, we didn’t take let her experience it. So this was her first time exploring it all!!!  She wasn’t sure what to think about it either. I think the brightness of the reflected sunlight was too much for her, that and the fact that it was around 18 degrees out there. Needless to say, we didn’t stay out long. Long enough to take a few pictures and warrant a hot chocolate once we came inside.

Update: in between me drafting this post and publishing it, it snowed again!!!!! This time we had big white fluffy flakes! So, of course, I grabbed my camera and outside again we went. And it’s supposed to snow tonight too, YAY! I love this rare substance called snow : )
